Beer-Proof Purses for St. Patrick’s Day

March 16th, 2011 | Tips and Quips

As much as I love green, it’s not a color that agrees with my skin tone, so on St. Patrick’s Day my bit of green is usually in the form of an accessory.  If you’re in the need of some Irish inspiration, here are some good options that will keep the St. Patrick’s Day pinchers to themselves and can take you through spring and summer as well.  They are all made of materials that are easy to wipe down, so should you be involved in a particularly rousing rendition of the Unicorn Song and beer gets spilled on one, you have no worries. This post was inspired by some very special beer bloggers so if you need help choosing a beer to enjoy on St. Patty’s Day check out Brewgasm, Bruisin’ AlesThe Beer Babe and Craft Beer.

Oh if only I was rich enough to buy a purse for every holiday! (If you get that rich will you buy me a St. Patty’s Day purse and an Earth Day purse? BTW what would an Earth day purse look like?

Well, the good news is you can buy it for St. Patty’s day and use it half the year! I think an Earth Day purse would be a burlap sack, which I will totally buy for you.

Thanks for the mention. LOVE the purse with the bird on it. Where do I find that one?

Thanks for the public service announcement, Pixie! I love the Longchamp but, alas, I’m not long on funds, so I’ll just have to be careful to avoid beer spillage.

The bird purse is by Holly Aiken, a designer out of Raleigh. You can get more info at HollyAiken.com or you can click on the picture above (where the link is now working). You can also get her bags at Old North State in downtown Asheville.
