Happy New Year, Pixies!

It’s really hard to believe that 2012 is here. 2011 was a big year for Purse Pixie and I couldn’t have done it without you, my wonderful readers!

We want to make 2012 even better and I would love to hear your thoughts about what you really like or maybe don’t like about Purse Pixie. We are nothing without our readers and want to make sure we are providing content that is interesting and helpful to you. Happy 235th Birthday, America!

Sometimes in the midst of all the political turmoil and bickering, I have to remind myself what a great country I live in. And it is a great country. I have freedoms that many women in the world do not: I can drive, I can own property, I can vote, I can run for office, I can speak my mind without fear that I will be silenced. I see July 4 as a day when, while not forgetting the mistakes that have been made, we can be proud of what our nation has accomplished, celebrate the freedoms it offers us, and be thankful for those who have fought to give us those freedoms.

I hope you get to spend this day with friends or family celebrating our freedom and that you get to listen to Ray Charles’ version of America the Beautiful at least once.
