Purse Blog – Saving the world one purse at a time

Rebecca Minkoff handbags have always turned my head because they have classic shapes but also have edgy details that make them modern and interesting. They are beautifully made in a wide array of styles and colors to suit any personality.

Rebecca launched this video to introduce her Fall 2010 line called Bada Boum! I am having trouble picking a favorite. You can see the whole collection here.

Target just announced its newest and I think best handbag collaboration to date. British brand Mulberry with be partnering with the retailer on a collection that will be released on October 10.

While I am a big fan of the style that Target is achieving with its handbag collaborations, I have never liked the fake leather PVC that the Target price point necessitates. Word on the street is that Mulberry will be using more fabrics like denim and velvet, which will help keep the handbags from looking cheap.

Here are a few of my favorites from Mulberry’s current collection. Let’s hope they can translate their great designs into purses that everyone can afford!

Heidi!

Looks like waiting until the last minute paid off as we picked #15 out of the hat.

Thanks so much to everyone who registered. Check back often because there are lots more Purse Pixie purse giveaways to come!

Minx Boutique is one of my favorite local shops and they have a new great offer for their shoppers. In an effort to reduce waste, they have introduced the Minx Bunny Bag, a nylon reusable bag sporting an adorable bunny rabbit.

You will get a free Bunny Bag with a single purchase of $150 (limit one per customer) or you can purchase one for $15. Then you’ll receive 10% off future purchases when you present your Bunny Bag at the counter and use it to carry out your items. Not only does this cut down on trash but also gives you a new tote for groceries, the beach, or whatever!

Check out the details here and thanks to the wonderful ladies at Minx!

I know this is not purse related but it is something that’s important to my town and to bloggers everywhere. The Asheville community is working hard to attract Google’s fiber network project. Google is looking for a place to build a world-class broadband network with speeds 100x faster than the internet now in your home. If Google chooses us, we will have amazing internet service, will attract businesses from all over the world and will be free of Charter Communications! If you love Asheville, please nominate it at GoogleAVL.com.

Technorati is a blog directory that we are trying to join. This post is just us jumping through hoops to help them out.

If you like blogs in general, Technorati is a great place to check out.  All registered blogs are arranged by category so you can find purse blogs, blogs about fashion, politics, organic gardening, you name it. There are blogs on every topic and Technorati tries to make it easy to find the information you want. These are a few blogs that I am excited to follow—

Welcome to Purse Pixie, my new little world of  fun, style and purses. Here I hope to share some info-maybe about popular styles, maybe about indie brands, maybe buying advice, but all in hopes of helping you find the right bag (or bags) for you.  Join me in the coming weeks as we talk about purses: what I like, what I don’t, and what I know and I hope you’ll join in the conversation.
