Purse Pixie

Purse Blog – Saving the world one purse at a time

I love leather bags. I love the richness and the durability and I love the smell. What I don’t  like (besides the price tag) is the fact that leather can also give off a masculine vibe. Especially brown leather, which is my very favorite.

Well, there’s nothing masculine about this bag.

The oversized bow and soft goatskin give the Villador Carpetto Bow Bag an airy and feminine feel and the color can work year round. I wear pink and I like girly so a big leather bow, when done well, is just fine by me.

You can buy the Villador Carpetto Bow Bag from Luisa Via Roma for $1053.

If I won the lottery I would buy…

The Marni Raffia Cross-body Bag

I love the black and brown together and the fact the pattern is so eye-catching. I imagine this is the type of bag I would need in St. Tropez or Portofino to look effortlessly chic.

The price, however, means I would have to choose to go to St. Tropez or choose to buy this purse, but probably not both. Wait! What am I talking about? I won the lottery. I’ll take both.

You can buy the Marni Raffia (Yes, raffia. Not even leather.) Cross-body Bag for $1430 at Net-a-Porter.

I am starting a new series of posts called Lottery Bags. These bags are so named because the only way I could afford them or could possibly justify spending so much on a purse would be if I won the lottery. Seeing as how I don’t buy lottery tickets it is unlikely that I’ll win, but it’s always fun to dream.

First up, the Prada Saffiano Print Tote.

It doesn’t get much better than a classic shape with a funky yet versatile pattern. Prada has covered the tough leather exterior in a pattern that looks like it was painted on. It reminds me of a beautiful old wall paper pattern that might have been in the Biltmore Estate or a European palace.

The Prada Saffiano Print Tote can be yours for only $2,450. If you decide to buy it, pick one up for me too.
