Lottery Bag: Fendi B. Fab Studded Satchel

Meet the Fendi B. Fab Studded Satchel. It’s so great. It reminds me of the square gum you get for a quarter from candy machines and the big parachute we used in elementary school PE class. Because it’s Fendi, it’s made beautifully. But it is definitely not the classic kind of bag that you’ll carry for the rest of your life and may pass on to your daughter one day. I would have to have more money that I know what to do with to drop $3000 on a bag that is essentially a novelty bag. Guess it’s a good thing I don’t have more money that I know what to do with, but if I win the lottery, you might see me with this Chiclet covered Fendi.

With some bags it’s love at first sight. I can’t explain why I am head-over-heels for the Reed Krakoff Kit Python and Leather Shoulder Bag, but love isn’t always rational. Normally I am creeped out by snakeskin but here I find it charming. I also wouldn’t have thought that a bag that includes deep shades of pink, red, and orange would affect me so, but affect me it has. Problem is, this bag is one expensive date but if I won the lottery, this is a relationship Iwould definitely be pursuing.

The Proenza Schouler PS1 has been one of the most coveted bags around for a while now, coming out in all manner of colors, prints and materials. This leather and felt version is my favorite incarnation of the PS1 to date and if I won the lottery, I would immediately buy it to carry all my other money.

Lottery Bag: Alaia Tiger Print Calf-Hair and Leather Tote

The fact that it’s small enough to be a large purse and large enough to be a small weekend bag totally justifies the $4770 price tag of this Alaia Tiger Print Calf-Hair Tote, right? Well, maybe not but if I won the lottery, I’d be willing to give it a shot at giving me my money’s worth. I’m a bit confused by the name because I thought tigers had stripes and not spots, but maybe the folks at Alaia know something I don’t. All I know is that I want one.

Lottery Bag: Reed Krakoff Boxer II

In my opinion Coach creative director Reed Krakoff’s handbag line totally lives up to the hype. Krakoff released his first designs last year, and I think many of them have the potential to become iconic designs.

While Krakoff’s bags start at about $800, if I won the lottery, I would go straight for one of his most expensive bags, the Reed Krakoff Boxer II in alligator and flannel. I love, love, love when fabrics are used well in designer handbags and also really dig the juxtaposition of the flannel with the luxurious alligator. If you forego the alligator, you can save about $4000, but if I win the lottery, why not go all out?

If I won the lottery, I would totally spend the not insignificant amount of $4200 to get this piece of Gucci loveliness. The Gucci Woven-paneled leather tote is a bag that screams “summer on the Mediterranean.” It is beautifully detailed without looking busy and the woven touches make it feel casual, despite how structured it is. Love that color. Love the details. Love it all.

I am not sure if it’s the classic doctor bag shape, the metallic sheen or the beautiful red color of this bag that draws me in but I am in love with it. Available from Galt for $1675 and also comes in black. Since you’ll already be spending quite a bundle, might as well get it monogrammed for an additional $20.

Lottery Bag: Mulberry Bayswater Python Bag

Since we’re on a British kick I feel the need to mention this new bag by Mulberry which, should I win the lottery, will be one of my first purchases. Putting aside the fact that snake skin creeps me out a little bit, I have fallen in love with the golden tones of this new incarnation of the Mulberry Bayswater. As happens every fall, metallics have taken over much of the seasonal handbag selection, but this metallic is so different. The subtle variations in color, the flawless execution, and the classic Mulberry shape make this a bag that will amp up any outfit and will be a go-to bag for years to come. For $4000 it better be.
