I went to the mall yesterday to return some things. Just returns-I had no intention of buying anything but I ended up in the purse department in Dillard’s.
I really should know better. I should know that I rarely come out of there without buying something and yesterday was no exception. They are having some amazing sales right now-things marked down 40-65%. So I walked around and found a few that I liked. Then I sat down on the floor of Dillard’ s to check them out.
I pulled out all the tissue, took off any plastic, unzipped all zippers and examined the pockets. I got a few odd stares from other shoppers wondering what the girl on the floor was looking for, but it was worth it. In the end I settled on this one: The SAK Iris Convertible Shopper in Curry.

Here are some things I like:
- It’s yellow enough to not be brown (because I have A LOT of brown) but it’s brown enough to still be neutral.
- It comes with a shoulder strap and actually looks okay when you use the shoulder strap.
- The inside is large enough to hold all my stuff.
- It has a zipper pocket as well as two other pockets for cell phone, keys or whatever.
- The Sak Iris Shopper is versatile and I think will last me a while so at $62, I am very happy with my purchase.
I love this tote. It is loud and cheerful and bright and would go with almost anything. Priced around $90, the Big Buddha Hibiscus Tote is a great way to add a little life to an outfit without going overboard.
You can buy through Piperlime or Dillard’s and you can sign up to win a Big Buddha Hibiscus Hobo here.
I have an appreciation for nice things. Unfortunately nice things are often expensive things so I am not always able to appreciate them up close. Luckily, I have found someone who has exhibited her very nice collection of purses for all to see, thus making me drool.
Purse Addict is someone who loves purses as much as I do- and seems to have a lot more money to spend on them than I do. She has quite an impressive collection of designer purses and although our tastes are not the same, the lady definitely appreciates a nice handbag. Check out the entire purse collection here. My favorites are the Dior Saddle bag, the Chloe and the Mulberry. And, yes, that is seven colors of Chanel bags.
If you really want your to make your head spin, take a look at her shoe collection.
We will be starting our own giveaways soon but for now I’ll tell you about some other places you can score a free purse! If you feel like you never win anything, maybe this is your chance.
Win Derek Lam Blanche Tote (valued at $1690!)
Win Element Eden Phoenix (valued at $74)
Win Big Buddha Sadie Bag (valued at $100)
I have a Talbots gift card to spend so I have been cruising their website and I must say that I’m impressed by Talbots spring line of purses. It’s not the place to buy a trendy or outrageous handbag but Talbots is a great option for classic, ladylike bags. They use traditional shapes and toss in bright blues and buttery yellows to spice it up. They also just released a series of python embossed bags, which is not really my style but still looks pretty darn cool.
The prices on their genuine leather bags are hard to beat especially for something that should be in style for years to come. So even if their flowery prints and conservative separates are not for you, Talbots’ handbags are worth checking out.
Now the big question is which one should I use my gift card on?

I have loved Alice in Wonderland since I was very young although I have grown up and now someone yelling “I’m late! I’m late!” can have a very different meaning, Wonderland still holds a special place in my heart.
Alice in Wonderland is all the rage right now because Tim Burton’s new movie comes out today. Considering how much I did not like Tim Burton’s version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, I am very skeptical of this new film but I will probably have to go see it anyway.
In classic Disney fashion (no pun intended), a whole product line has been launched to go along with the movie. Some of the items are okay and some make me want to yell “Off with their heads!”

So while I was out ruining my purse in Myrtle Beach, I did get to do some shopping. I spent most of my time ambling through Anthropologie because I am a total sucker for their aesthetic. I want to live in that store.
I usually end up in the sale section because let’s face it, their clothes are pretty expensive, but as I wondered around daydreaming about what I would buy if I won the lottery, a few Anthropologie handbags caught my eye that actually fit into my current budget. (I do realize that one of them is a glasses case but I think it’s cute enough to be used as a clutch).

Right now, and not sure for how long, Endless.com is offering $25 off select items of $125 or more. In addition to this deal, they have hundreds of purses on sale and a bunch of other lower priced options to browse. They also offer free shipping and free returns. I recently ordered a purse from Endless.com then decided to return it. It was so easy that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again.
My favorite picks are the
